Implementing medical certification of cause of death in the CRVS system

To allow for accurate cause of death data collection, analysis, interpretation, and use for deaths occurring in the presence of a physician, cause of death data should be collected on the international standard medical certificate of cause of death. Data collection in accordance to this standard allows for mortality coding according to the International Classification of Diseases (ICD). This guide provides operational best-practices for the improvement and maintenance of MCCD practices within the CRVS system.
