Understanding Barriers and Facilitators to Female Death Registration in Kilimanjaro and Katavi, Tanzania: A Mixed-Methods Descriptive and Analytical Study
This study, conducted in partnership with the Registration Insolvency and Trusteeship Agency (RITA), National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Ministry of Health (MoH), President's Office - Regional Administration and Local Government (PORALG), Johns Hopkins University, Vital Strategies and CREMES International, examined the processes, barriers, and facilitators of death registration in two regions, Kilimanjaro and Katavi, to identify strategies for improving completeness (defined as the proportion of deaths registered within the national CRVS system within the year of occurrence relative to estimated total deaths), timeliness, and gender equity in civil registration.
